Its a fun ride which derailed very fast. As usual Sanya Malhotra killed her role so did abhimanyu dasani but the script was so lazy and sluggish that you will start losing your nerve. Bollywood needs better love stories than this I am just angry on the fake reviews.

Long distance relationships arent hard for Indians. Here people wait years to meet their loved ones. This was only Banglore and Madurai. A 7 hour bus trip is all thats needed for their relationship to work. But they kind of want to use the Hollywood story of long distance relationships in India.And the language is disrespectful to any sane person. Its a story about two person from Tamil Nadu. But all of them speaks Hindi and broken Tamil every now and then. I dont know why bollywood keeps doing this. But stop trying to show Tamil culture if you dont know anything about it. At least dont cast non Tamilians as Tamilians. Even if you do get a dubbing artist to give voice for them instead of making them speak a language when they cant. And stop using Rajinikanth. Just stop.There were some good moments in the movie but overall its cringey.

Nothing good about the movie except the locations. Its too boring . Same old relationship arguments with no good screenplay and direction.The reviews with 10 are totally fake. It doesnt deserve more than 5 for sure .Cant trust imdb also now a days .

I am going to list down everything wrong with the movie1. The state of Tamil Nadu speaks the language of Tamil. Its extremely offensive to portray Tamilians using Hindi as their first language. Netflix needs to understand the politics of North Indias push to make Hindi the national language and South Indias fight against it it has been going on for half a decade.2. All the rooms in Tamil Nadu are lit up in a sepia tint even software companies. Also all ladies in Tamil Nadu wears traditional with flowers in the hair. Even interviewers in software companies. Height of stereotyping by Johar and party.3. This is a celebration of the arranged marriage culture. The boys family end up going to the wrong girls house they are trying to leave when they realized their mistake. But an old uncle blows a conch shell and announces the marriage is fixed. Everyone is happy nobody bothered to ask the couple for consent.4. Seems a large family does not understand young couples have sex everyone walks into bedroom and a cute music is played. What is cute about sex illiteracy5. The patriarch boys dad announces decisions all through the movie everyone falls in line its considered normal apparently.6. The boy gets a job at a company where they employs only bachelors. Seems girlfriends are also not allowed. Apparently this is also normal according to the makers of this movie.7. The protagonist has the brilliant idea of sharing a quarter whiskey between 3 people by making each take a small sip look at the stars and shake their torso. Have been drinking for a good long time its news to me.Beyond this I stopped paying attention and started playing with my phone. I am sure I missed a lot of juicy bits.

FYI this film in no way represents Tamil culture. Pathetic. I wonder how they managed to make a movie without some basic research. Netflix must do better.I have no respect left for Bollywood.

Anwar Says It was both a bold and beautiful decision by Karan Johar the producer and Vivek Soni the director to move to South and that too Tamilnadu and opted to acknowledge India beyond North. Started in City of Temples Madurai and landed in Cyber City Bengaluru without the normal Bollywood clichs is really commendable.The movie started well with an arranged marriage of two pretty faces belonging to two traditional families. The girl respects the inspiring husband who has to go to Bengaluru for a job after two days of marriage only and here the writers loose the connection and the movie goes haywire. Added to that needless and pointless Rajinikanths reference doesnt add anything actually.Saniya Malhotra has already proven her strength and has done an endearing act . Abhimanyu launched in Mard ko Dard nahin hota carries the innocence of Sundareshwar quite smoothly. But the confused writers and poor director made it uneventful . Meenakshi Sundareshwar 2021 Movie Review We have seen lots of films made on long distance relationships in Bollywood but Meenakshi Sundareshwar is different for one big reason. Have we seen any film made on long distance relationship set in post marriage scenario Probably No. Thats where Meenakshi Sundareshwar is different and thats the most interesting thing about it. The story is a mix of modern thoughts of young generation and traditional features followed by a typical family which makes it amusing sometimes but mostly boring.The film is about newly married couple Sundareshwar Abhimanyu Dassani and Meenakshi Sanya Malhotra and their complex relationship torn by long distance bonding. Meenakshi and Sundar are in love but their personal ambitions somehow makes it difficult for them to live together. The screenplay looks stretched because the story does not have anything as big as to carry a long narrative of 140 minutes. The soul of the story was good enough to make a two hours film but here those extra 40 minutes makes it lose the grip. Rest there is nothing much wrong nothing new either. The idea is loyal and sweet which makes it watchable but at the same time some vulgar youth oriented jokes harms it.The film is led by Abhimanyu and Sanya mostly because the supporting cast is too big to fit into long space. Abhimanyu Dassani looks good i mean i didnt hate him much here. His language the accent those expresions in tense scenes everything seems reasonable. Sanya on the other side runs a riot of her own. That carefree and happy go lucky girl is very well played by her. Youll love her in those Thalaiva mimicry scenes and dance scenes. Like mentioned above the supporting cast is too big but everyone does pretty enough according to roles and situations.Meenakshi Sundareshwar has too many songs unnecessarily added in the final cut. Not that the songs are bad they are decent but that hampers the pace of the film. Nevertheless Justin Prabhakarans music is good enough to play on your jukebox. The technical aspects of the film arent noteworthy and viewing the film on small screen or mobile phone adds more to its lowering. What works in the film is simplicity of the character and the flow of storytelling. What it lacks is the pace and that little boost of intelligent writing in the conclusion part. The conflicts are outdated. The characters who are supposed to be matured behave immaturely and therefore all the conflicts look bad.Director Vivek Soni has handled the script without making any big damages. To keep that natural flow of relationship was very much needed and he knew exactly what to do. However he fails to do something new which makes this one a forgettable affair. As a whole Meenakshi Sundareshwar is sweet but it has limits to its own lukewarm vision. They dont want cross the boundaries and make a film that will stand tall against mediocrity hence fails to make an impact. Its still watchable and i think thats too much to ask from a dustbin called Netflix.RATING 510

But the long distance not only make them distance from themselves but also it makes them distance from their feelings understandings and love....The flow of the story looses its grip at many places by trying to maintain the emotion of the movie but feel boredom at certain point of time....2hrs is pretty long time duration for such a lousy movie.....Performance wise Sanya Malhotra was pretty as a Tamilan girl but still convinciability of a non tamil actress portraying the role of Tamil Village Girl is little undigestable.... Abhimanyu Dasani was average in his performanceThe makers created an ambience of local Tamil family culture village atmosphere etc but artificiallity was experienced.....Overall complications behind a Long Distance Relationship portrayed.....A movie which can be watched if there are no options.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar is a Hindi language romantic comedy film that was released yesterday on Netflix. Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani star as a newly married couple. The storyline is about a post marriage long distance relationship.The first half of the movie was sweet and entertaining. But the film loses its track in the second half. They got so busy giving a tribute to Rajnikanth that they didnt focus on the main storyline. Character development is very poor.Sanyas performance is the same as she performed in Pagglait. Abhimanyu performed really well. I personally felt that there are too many songs in this movie. Even they have failed to set the proper mood.In my opinion you can watch the first half and skip the rest. There is nothing new in the story. The second half seems pretty logicless. It is an unnecessarily lengthy and one time watch movie.

A newly wed south Indian couple is forced to carry on a long distance relationship as hubby has to move from orthodox temple town Madurai to a happening modern cyber city Bengaluru. The sweet nothings through the lap top does not help to keep the relationship live. There are the usual strict elder males and curious aunties. To make things worse the IT firm in the big bad Bengaluru city where our hero Abimanyu Dasani works accepts only bachelors due to heavy and time sensitive work load. The super strict boss makes this amply clear in his speech to the rookies. The new bride Sanya Malhotra makes unsuccessful efforts to join him and soon the misunderstandings and the friction begin. When the communication between them breaks down he ruefully says that communication is like oxygen in a relationship.This movie is a case of post marriage slow burn and uneasy period of adjustment which at times tests the patience of audience with its slow pace sweetness and excessive simplicity. Yes excessive sweetness and simplicity can be a pain at times. The movie focusses a bit too much on the orthodox south Indian family and the atmosphere of the sleepy temple town of Madurai to a point of distraction. The narrative is painfully slow most of the time and the misery of the confused timid and awkward couple does not help in any way. At times it looks like an idli sambar mix gone wrong.The good point of the movie is the pleasing display of romance between a pretty heroine and a handsome shy hero both trying desperately to make the marriage work. The aspect of Sanya being a crazy and diehard fan of Rajnikanth is shown very well. The movie has lovely music and excellent cinematography which brings out Madurai beautifully.

Started off quite good then the writers took a break from good writing and continued writing anyway. Promising plot ends with nowhere to go with.Could have been less pathetic with shorter run time. It was a stretch without a good reason.

I dont agree with reviews I found this movie very boring. Their is no story very slow will not recommend. I only enjoyed the madurai location and beautiful architecture.

Only thing keeping this movie alive is some basic low level romance story. Aside from that everything is third class from acting to cinematography. From plot to characters. Seems like an immature teenager made this movie without any awareness of the real world.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar is a sweet and charming film with the concept of arranged marriages and long distance relationships in the background. The refreshing treatment and southern setting of the film is what sets it apart from the rest in the same genre.The lead pair of Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani are such a delight to watch. Sanya just lits up the screen every time she appears in the film. Abhimanyus innocence is adorable. The film has also got some lovely music. All in all this one is recommended for all the romance lovers as it has its heart in the right place.

The movie started off very well but went down soon after. Nothing was going on at all. Lame and lazy writing the guy brings a suitcase for an orientation where is the receptionist Absolutely no laughs and nothing new. Tried to make a Hrishikesh Mukherjee type movie but falls flat. The only redeeming thing is the backdrop of Madurai. Saniya Malhotra seems to move from Badhai ho set to this one. Watch it only for Madurai.

There is no proper script after first 30 mins. I think even director was clueless what is this movie all about. Except first song all are so damn boring. I was clicking forward button for rest of the songs. The movie lacks so many things. No comedy no suspense no entertainment. Even the ending is so flat. Still i am giving 5 stars because of outstanding first 30 mins. Everything looked like wonderland. Amazing camera work nice old house beautiful costumes. I was even getting goosebumps. But that is not enough to satisfy a movie lover. Story or storytelling is the main key for any movie. If you fail in that.. everything fails automatically. Next time Work hard and come back back with some strong script.
