Improvement on the original
This film takes the elements from the original film and improves on it in every way. Its incredibly self aware about the reception and flaws of its predecessor toning down the slapstick exposing how irresponsible the mischief is and focusing on the family dynamic. This is even lampshaded directly with the publishers of the book trying to make it more marketable which ends up being a paradox. The characters realise that the changes are ruining the core heart of the story yet the film itself actually incorporates the changes suggested by its villains. While clever and funny this conflict would probably go over the heads of its child audience and it takes up too much screentime as the other plot is very slow to start off. In a more compelling side story Peter feels scrutinised and ostracised for his mayhem and ends up falling into even worse company. This has an emotional core that would appeal to more of the audience.

Parent Info- Comfortable Taking my 4 yr old...
Bea and Thomas are getting married and extending the business But Peter is feeling left out and misunderstood. Is running away going to provide what hes looking for Can Thomas and Peter learn to live harmoniously together This movie is filled with mischievous laughter and marvelous family lessons a great watch for family movie night. The director specifically wanted this to be a movie that adults and kids would enjoy and it does that well. In a very rare turn of events I think I enjoyed Peter Rabbit 2 even more than the first movie. And I think it is more family friendly as well For a full parent review with more information on how appropriate it is for younger children check out our full review at the down the hobbit hole blog. There is a lot of slapstick comedy but also a lot of heart in this sequel The twist they put on the classic story is magnificently fun. And while there is a fair amount of bathroom humor and cartoonish violence I absolutely feel comfortable taking my 4 year old to see this one. Its a really cute sequel

The Next Rabbit Lesson
Peter Rabbit 2 The Runaway or The Next Rabbit Lesson is still so important when it comes to core values in life but also sometimes shows that reaching the level of the original work is not always an easy thing.

Expanded the adventure for its animal characters
Unneccesary sequel which was slightly better than we think. Will Gluck really expanded the adventure with heist that led to greater self awareness especially for its animal characters. In the end its still about family though got less exciting human story.

The First Film Was Good And this Second film Is Better Still So, I Eagerly Await The Third Film!
I enjoyed the first film even though it was very tame in its mayhem than the books of Peter Rabbit themselves are. So having that thought I knew that the sequel would have to be a riot of Peter and friends mischeif...and it was was. It wasnt hillariously funny IMHO...in my humble opinion but it was a fun filled not stop riot a film that would have the whole family grinning from ear to ear upon leaving the cinematheatre You would have to be a really Scrooge type misery gut person not to be able to find some enjoyment in this film but I know for sure there are many just such miserable peeps out in society streets today.I think that by the way the first 2 films have progressed the 3rd has got to be a real laugh a minute jaw aching tear filled mayhem of fun...I cant wait for it to come alongitll probably be about 2004.

Family entertainment
I didnt see the first one. Forgive me. But I did enjoy the sequel. The effects with the rabbits are spot on and the voices bring them to life has characters so with the other animals.I was not quite has invested with the human characters although Domhnall Gleason does have some funny moments and Rose Byrne is alright in some scenes but I became more interested in the scenes with the animals. But I believe this could be a film for kids and adults.

Whimsical Animated Comedy-Adventure Film With Loads Of Laughs
Peter Rabbit 2 The Runaway is a family friendly comedy adventure film. I loved watching whimsical animated film. It had me laughing from beginning to end. The crazy adventures of Peter and the animals are highly entertaining. In this film the characters you loved from the first movie are back. A beautiful wedding a new business and a perfect life on the farm appeared to be all Peter Rabbit and his family need but things change when a book Bea wrote about the rabbits gets an opportunity to be published.Director Will Gluck and screenwriter Patrick Burleigh bring back Peter Rabbit with a new adventure while maintaining what we love about the characters from the first movie. The talented voice overs of Peter Rabbit James Corben Mopsy Elizabeth Debicki Flopsy Margot Robbie Cottontail Aimee Horne and Barnabas Lennie James bring life to the characters and laughter. Of course a comedy adventure is nothing without a proper soundtrack. The music by Dominic Lewis keeps up with the high energy animal mischief and helps build emotion. Art directors Nicholas Dare and Sophie Nash create realistic computer generated animals that could easily play the lead actors in any movie including humans. Their personalities will have movie viewers falling in love with them and cheering their victory.Through Peter Rabbits adventures on the farm and in the city we learn that the importance of family is a continuous theme throughout the film. Unfortunately Peter makes the mistake of letting the judgment of others question his character. However the unconditional love from his siblings cousin Bea Thomas and the other animals helps him realize he doesnt have to be perfect to be loved. Bea and Thomas finally understand that family comes in all shapes and sizes.I rate Peter Rabbit 2 The Runaway 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 3 to 18. Adults will also enjoy sharing laughs with their families. Peter Rabbit 2 The Runaway premieres in theaters June 11 2021 and on Amazon Prime.Reviewed by Calee N. KIDS FIRST.

An entertaining sequel
The movie is good maybe not he best sequel to ever happened but the for the story of Peter Rabbit it is very fun and very enjoyable for a family to watch.I had some issue with James Corden voice I mean .. I well .. find his voice very annoying but I try to relax and take it easy and all works fine DAnyway the plot is good very fun and purposeful doing good friendship and focusing on the your partners in life and doing good Domhnall Gleeson tried to carry the comedy part in this and it was very good his nervousangry comedy expressions were spotless. The movie is very recommended of course.

Well worth the Redbox rent for the laughs
1010 because I feel this movie deserves a much higher rating. Both the first and second movie have been treated harshly and have a lower rating than I believe they have respectively earned. People on here are astoundingly negative it blows my mind. A fun movie a kid or an adult could watch as Im 31 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Charmless runaway
Am one of those people who really enjoyed the first Peter Rabbit. A masterpiece it was not but it was so much better than expected and was entertaining. While sequels dont always have a good reputation there are some great ones out there and even masterpieces that are as good as their originals Godfather Part II Aliens Terminator 2 Empire Strikes Back. Did though question the need for Peter Rabbit getting a sequel when the first could easily have been a one off.Peter Rabbit 2 disappointed. It is not a terrible film and has its moments and good things but its mixed critical reception is more than understandable and agreed with sadly and my feelings are pretty mixed. The first is definitely better while this didnt feel needed and lacked what made the first so enjoyable despite having the same cast back. As far as 2021 films go Peter Rabbit 2 is not one of the worst but among the best it is a long way from. The good things are going to be listed first. It looks fine with the photography and locations being lovely. Even better is the work on the animals they look wonderful and gel seamlessly with the locations and what goes on around them. While the placement of the soundtrack was not great the song selection was pretty good characterful and diverse and the score fitted at least.Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne do their best bringing charm into their underwritten roles. Most of the voice cast are very good with the standout being Lennie James as one of the films most interesting characters being one of the few to get a backstory and clear motivations. There are some amusing lines Peters sisters have a lot of personality as do all the animal characters. One of the better moments was also the self aware moment of Peter acknowledging that his voice is annoying. On the other hand the flaws are many. Peter himself is very difficult to root for a big problem considering that in this story you are supposed to do so due to the film going too far on showing his flaws and not enough of his good intentions. James Corden this time is irritating he was fine before but comes over as cocky and obnoxious this time. The story this time felt messy and felt like two stories in one. The book deal subplot is very thin and over stretched. Fine actor David Oyelowo deserved better than the stock obvious role he was given and he comes over as very one dimensional. Amazing how it took so long for the other characters to see through him.Meanwhile the main plot with Peter is very over stuffed too busy and too over reliant on confused slapstick the truth about one characters intentions being not a shock for a second and repetitive humour especially with the rooster and petshop. Personally did find myself confused with what the film was trying to be and who it was being aimed at so target audience was a big problem. With some of it being juvenile for adults and too complicated for younger audiences. For a family film there is not an awful lot to enjoy for younger viewers and older ones will only find it mildly amusing. While finding the soundtrack choices nice the placement was often questionable. With it not being harmonious with the action sometimes and being too loud. Charm is too little and the attempts at emotional drama come over as too sentimental. The ending is too rushed and convenient and the pacing is all over the shop draggy in the subplot and too hectic in the main one.Summing up underwhelming but not bad despite how all that sounded. 510.

I Came Out of the Cinema with a Smile on my Face...
Dont listen to the negative reviews. This movie deserves a way better rating I think everyone was waiting for it be released. I really enjoyed the first Peter Rabbit Movie and the sequel followed up nicely. It focuses a lot on Peter Rabbit not so much on the others but what do you expect its title is Peter Rabbit 2. I could watch this movie more than once and still find it interesting. It is a funny film with a storyline that makes me happy... or sad some times. But altogether I loved this movie and I think you would two. Thank you developersHighly Recommend.

This bunny has legs.
I appreciate Im over 2 months late in seeing Peter Rabbit 2. But the grandkids were staying for the weekend and wanted to see it againPositivesThis time the movie manages Paddington 2 style to find a good balance between slapstick jokes that appeal to the target younger audience my grandkids were roaring at certain bits and the dragalong adult audience. Some of these are gorgeously surreal like the skiing badger in the Alps as a university prank. It certainly passes the 6 laugh test for a comedy and generated a couple of good guffaws the Austin Powers landing in the Aston Martin and the subsequent take off was one for me.In the first movie James Cordens voicing of Peter Rabbit tended to grate with me enormously. Here he gamely plays up to that accepting that he is a bit of a marmite character with a lot of people. Its a fine comic moment.Rose Byrne and Domnhall Gleeson make a cute and watchable couple. Rose Byrne could read the phone directory for me. They are well supported here by David Oyelowo Dont look into his eyes who is the least villainous villain in any movie in recent memory Also fun are trying to spot the guest voice artistes who include Margot Robbie Sia Elizabeth Debicki Sam Neill Lennie James and Hayley Atwell.NegativesA few of the jokes dont quite land a one note cockeral story for example is overplayed. As Ive been doing some Supporting Artist work recently Ive become obsessed with observing Extras and the continuity of Extras in shots. There are a few inconsistencies in the mix on this oneSummary Thoughts Its fair to say although I never actually wrote a full review for it that I was NOT a fan of the original Peter Rabbit movie from 2018. Corden grated there was not enough for adult viewers and some of the included scenes were highly questionable try explaining to a three year old why Peter was stabbing a dead old man in the eye with his finger Ive avoided watching it again on the TV like the plague. This sequel was I thought much better being entertaining for both kids and adults. I wonder if I now watched the first movie I might find it in hindsight more palatable Perhaps I will give it a try sometime. For the full graphical review please check out One Manns Movies on tinterweb Facebook or Tiktok. Soulless
This movie is the same as the previous one only this one has a message in between.I found the story boring and incongruous without much depth and without much development. The acting improves a bit the CGI also improves but repeating the jokes more than twice is still tedious and takes the fun out of the joke. There never seems to be an antagonist and characters who appear to be antagonists have zero development. In this sequel it tries to improve in terms of story but it does not succeed it also tries to reduce the jokes but now it is boring to watch so it is a movie that is on the same level as the first one they only improve the CGI everything else remains the same.
